Skinsight ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Skinsight, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use Skinsight:
- Photos. When you take a skin scan, your photo is sent to our AI analysis service (Anthropic) to generate your skin report. Photos are not stored on our servers and are not used to train AI models.
- Skin profile. Information you provide during onboarding — including your skin concerns, current treatments, and products in use — is stored locally on your device.
- Scan history. Results from your skin scans (analysis text, skin scores, recommendations) are stored locally on your device.
- Chat messages. Messages you send to the Skinsight AI advisor are processed by Anthropic's API. Chat history is stored locally on your device only.
- Subscription data. If you subscribe to Skinsight Pro, your purchase is managed by RevenueCat and Apple. We do not store your payment details.
- Usage data. We may collect anonymised usage statistics (e.g. app crashes, feature usage) to improve the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the Skinsight skin analysis service
- To personalise your skincare recommendations based on your profile
- To manage your subscription and access to Pro features
- To send you optional push notifications (daily reminders, streak updates)
- To diagnose technical issues and improve app performance
3. Third-Party Services
Skinsight uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic. Your photos and chat messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate skin analysis and advice. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat. Subscription management and purchase verification. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Apple. In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy is at apple.com/privacy.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
4. Data Storage
Most of your data — including your skin profile, scan history, and chat messages — is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. This means your personal data does not leave your device except where explicitly described (e.g. photos sent for analysis, subscription verification).
Photos submitted for skin analysis are transmitted securely over HTTPS and are not retained by us after analysis is complete.
5. Data Retention
Locally stored data is retained on your device until you delete the app or clear app data. We do not maintain server-side records of your scan history, chat messages, or skin profile.
6. Children's Privacy
Skinsight is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights including:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate data
- The right to delete your data (you can do this by deleting the app)
- The right to object to or restrict certain processing

8. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information. All data transmitted to third-party services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Locally stored data uses your device's built-in security features.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Skinsight after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
